Every size, one system
From a 200 g envelope to a pallet.
Weight changes which carriers are eligible, which surcharges apply and whether it is even a parcel any more. It does not change the paperwork at the border. Here is what actually differs.
Small — under 1 kg
Envelopes and shoebox orders: apparel, parts, print. Crossing the border these now need the same HS code, description and origin as anything else, which is where we earn our keep. Domestically, we rate-shop them like everything else.
Mid-weight — 1 to 7 kg
The bracket where dimensional weight starts deciding the price instead of the scale. A big light box bills on volume, and we show you that before you buy rather than on the invoice six weeks later.
Heavy — 7 to 30 kg, often multi-box
One order becomes several linked labels under one customs document, with additional-handling and over-length surcharges priced in. This is the bracket most shipping tools quietly get wrong.
Oversize and freight — beyond 68 kg
Past the point where a parcel carrier will take it at all, we stop quoting parcel and quote LTL freight instead, in the same list. You see the crossover rather than discovering it.
Where we are not the cheapest
Two places you should use somebody else.
Both are real and both are easy to check, so you will find out anyway. Better here than after you have moved.
A light parcel that never crosses the border
On a 200 g domestic envelope a consolidator or a flat-rate service will beat our postage, and no amount of software makes up the difference. If none of what you send crosses into the US, we are not the saving.
Postage price alone, on any weight
We resell aggregated carrier rates and add a small, stated margin. If the only number you are optimising is the postage line, going direct to the carrier will eventually beat us and we would rather you knew that now.
What we are actually for
The parcel that has to clear customs correctly, the order that becomes four boxes, the quote that has to include duty before your customer sees a price. That is the work we do that the cheap label does not.
Two kinds of seller we are not for at all.
Saying so up front saves you an afternoon. We would rather lose the sign-up than the second month.
Enterprise volume
If you ship enough to negotiate directly with UPS, you already have better rates than any aggregator can pool. Connect that account here if the software helps — but do not switch for the postage.
Domestic-only, no border
If nothing you send ever crosses into the United States, most of what makes us different is dead weight. ShipStation will serve you at least as well and probably cheaper.
Think this fits what you ship?
Tell us what you send, where it goes, and what your current tool gets wrong. That is the whole first conversation.
